BYRON WOODS
Make no mistake--Byron can sang! Sliding ever so smoothly up the scale through
his natural voice and landing effortlessly in his falsetto, you would suspect that Woods
must be some kinda musical genie. This extended play (EP) CD is just the teaser for his
upcoming album scheduled for release in Spring 2000 on Omnibus Records. It includes the infectious
"Work of Art," which is causing a sensation in Europe and Asia and heating up
sales on Omnibus' Web site, and the beautiful ballad "You Are Here Tonight,"
just two of six cuts included here. Meanwhile, while you wait, Byron can also be heard as
one-fourth of the group Vocalpoynt.

THE CRICKET RUMOR MILL
When was the last time you tapped your toes to a CD? On this EP CD, The Cricket Rumor Mill
has ground out five tunes designed to make you do just that. Employing an ear-pleasing
mixture of musical styles, the Chicago trio has been bopping around the local club circuit
to great notices and will soon be heading back into the studio by popular demand to record
their next album. Although they are often accompanied in live performances by guest
musicians, The Cricket Rumor Mill is
Mark Engstrom-guitars/keyboards
Joe Popa-drums/percussion/keyboards
Jon Hensley-bass/keyboards
and if you get the opportunity, catch them live or on CD!
LIZ MANDVILLE GREESON
This lady sings the blues but don't mourn for her. You'll want to shout and sing along
with Mandville Greeson, a Chicago diva and Earwig
Music recording artist. Her 1997 CD Look
At Me caused quite a stir and received rave responses with her live audiences
around the country. Her latest offering, Ready To
Cheat is destined to do the same. (They are both available to sample and purchase
through the links provided here.) With a four octave range and a strong, powerful voice
delivering songs that she has written and produced, you'll pray that this lady stays blue
for years to come! To read more about Liz, click on the photo below.
TITUS
Yes, he won on Ed McMahon's tv show Star Search. Yes, he starred as The Wiz in a
Chicago production of the play of the same name. And yes, he is now known simply as Titus.
With a powerful, sandpapery voice somewhat reminiscent of that of David Ruffin of the
Temptations, Titus takes us through 15 tracks that he has produced and either written or
co-written on his Mastersellers CD Titus Volume I. The ballads are superb, the
upbeat tunes too, too danceable and all in all you'll probably give your CD player a good
workout with Volume I as you anxiously await Volume II. To hear
